Signup system
This is an example of invitations and signup systems that I create for several clients. The goal is to collect signups in a database rather than having them pour into an e-mail inbox with the danger of signups getting lost or overlooked.
The process is as follows :
- The client e-mails an invitation which contains practical information, signup information and password (to ensure that only invitees can sign up).
- The user receives the e-mail invitation and clicks the included link to open the signup form.
- The user “logs in” by entering the password as written in the invitation, and signs up by filling out name, e-mail address etc, before pressing “sign up”.
- A receipt is shown on the site as well as sent to the user by e-mail. The users signup information is now stored in a database for later use.
All data are stored in a database for easy reporting when the signup deadline has passed and the client wishes to compile a guest list for the event. If permission is given by user at the signup stage of the process (ie. by a checkbox) this can also be a good opportunity for mailinglist- and data capturing.
