Gronmo.no

Grønmo Arkitekter needed a new website to feature their latest projects.

They wanted the images to be the main part of the website, and so I created a scaling algorithm to cater for the different image sizes that they would upload and making sure that the image showing would always fill the entire website background.

Lenemarlin.com

While Lene Marlin has directed her focus to Myspace and Facebook as a tool of communicating with her fans, the record company (EMI Music Norway) still wanted a landing site for lenemarlin.com.

The landing site is created with Flash and contains store links and album information for her new album ‘Twist The Truth’. The site is scripted so that it fills the entire web browser canvas, while the background image scales accordingly without any quality loss or artifacts. To keep the loading time at a minimum, the flash file only loads the image size needed to fill the browser canvas. Ie. if the user has a screen resolution of 1024x768, load the background image called “background_1500x1500.jpg” (267kb) rather than “background_2500x2500.jpg” (669kb).

Christmas calendar for Kondomeriet.no

Since 1989, Kondomeriet has been the leading company of erotic articles and products in Norway. They requested a christmas calendar where people could win a new product every day. They also needed the calendar to be re-usable for next christmas as well as easily updatable through a CMS.

Each day until Christmas, the user is presented with a new photo representing one of their products for sale at kondomeriet.no. The user must then browse the webside to find the products 6 digit id number in order to enter the competition.

The CMS was also equipped with a "draw feature", where Kondomeriet could specify the number of winners and the correct answer to todays question. The script would select random X winners from the database ensuring a fear competion.

Card design: Plastkort.no

Showreel for plastkort.no

Plastkort Norge makes plastic cards such as access cards, ID cards, promotional cards etc.

They needed a showreel to present some of their cards and projects on their new website in an attractive and easy to browse interface. Flash was selected for the purpose, and was embedded seamlessly in the HTML page.

The showreel also has a flip feature where the user can examine both the front and back of each card.

The flash file retrieves images and text from an XML file which is updatable through a CMS.

Katy Perry landing site

This is an example of a landing site made for EMI Music Norway. The landing site was linked to from the radio channel NRJ as a part of their Katy Perry MMS contest, and contains information on the new album along with videos and buy buttons.

By linking the site to EMIs statistics system, they were able to monitor traffic directed from 3rd party sites.

Consensio.no

Consensio is a treatment center inspired by traditional eastern philosophies and treatment methods based on harmony and balance.

They needed a site with simple text and a slideshow on each page that they would be able to update themselves.

Eirik Gihle did the design and layout and sent me the files as AI-files (Illustrator) which I rasterized and sliced into web graphics.

Google indexing and deep linking was an important issue for this project, and therefore both the scroller function and the image slideshow had to be made in Javascript with no flash involved.

I also added a simple CMS for the client to update text and upload/insert images into each slideshow.

Taran.no

Taran Management commissioned me to script and develop a new website that would market their shows and artists. After meeting with the designer, I received the layout and design from Ims Design as Photoshop files. From these design files I broke down the layout and created the HTML and CSS framework needed for the site.

Taran also wished to feature some video clips from three of their shows on their website. I created a flash player that streams the video clips as flv through http stream. At the moment, the site traffic isn’t so high that any ISP bandwidth limits should pose any problems, so I considered http stream to be quite safe as opposed to conventional streaming which is more reliable but also much more expensive.

The text and images are hard coded into the HTML file with no CMS attached to the site.

Bicoda.no

Bicoda is a design bureau that makes folders, brochures, business cards and packaging. They needed a new site to promote their services and commissioned me to do the scripting and developing of the site.

I received the design files as Illustrator vector from Tina Jerstad, and from these I rasterized the graphical elements to bitmap and set up the framework for the site. A simple portfolio gallery was also created using Javascript.

I also created a simple CMS (Content Management System) where Bicoda can easily upload and add portfolio images featuring their previous works. This CMS is done in PHP which is connected to a mySQL database.

Signup system

This is an example of invitations and signup systems that I create for several clients. The goal is to collect signups in a database rather than having them pour into an e-mail inbox with the danger of signups getting lost or overlooked.

The process is as follows :

  1. The client e-mails an invitation which contains practical information, signup information and password (to ensure that only invitees can sign up).
  2. The user receives the e-mail invitation and clicks the included link to open the signup form.
  3. The user “logs in” by entering the password as written in the invitation, and signs up by filling out name, e-mail address etc, before pressing “sign up”.
  4. A receipt is shown on the site as well as sent to the user by e-mail. The users signup information is now stored in a database for later use.

All data are stored in a database for easy reporting when the signup deadline has passed and the client wishes to compile a guest list for the event. If permission is given by user at the signup stage of the process (ie. by a checkbox) this can also be a good opportunity for mailinglist- and data capturing.

Marianaashansen.no

Marian Aas Hansen started her musical career in her teens as a jazz soloist. Since then she has starred in several shows and musicals, and has established herself an acclaimed entertainment artist.

The site marianaashansen.no (design by Håkon Ims) is made entirely in Flash. The text content is coded into the flash file, while images and videos are dynamically loaded into the site at run-time to ease initial load time.
